How it works (For research partners)

Step 4. At the end of the study abroad program, students are invited to complete the post-program assessments within a designated four-week time window. Once completed, they immediately receive a personalized report showing the development of their competencies throughout their international experience. Students can also download a Study Abroad Global Experience Certification®, co-branded with your study abroad provider's logo, which validates the skills and competencies gained abroad. The certificate can be added to their CV or LinkedIn profile as independent evidence of their international competency development.

Step 1. Let us know how many students will use our online platform to obtain the Study Abroad Global Experience Certification®. We'll prepare a personalized one-year proposal tailored to your program. Pricing is on a per-student basis and varies according to the total number of participating students.

Step 3. Once the study abroad program begins, students are encouraged to develop not only academically but also in the key competencies measured by our certification. These competencies are assessed through eight self-assessments and reported across nine professional and personal competency areas. Many study abroad providers actively promote these competencies throughout the program, helping students strengthen their international profile and future employability.

Step 2. Once enrollment for the Spring, Summer, or Fall semester has closed and the final number of participating students has been confirmed, we provide your Study Abroad Program with a set of unique, confidential access codes. Each student receives an individual code along with instructions to complete the pre-departure assessments. The assessment period is scheduled within a designated time window, allowing students 3–4 weeks before departure to complete all required tests.

Recognition Badge. Study abroad providers receive our Study Abroad Global Experience Certification® badge, recognizing their commitment to measuring and validating students' global competency development. The badge may be displayed on promotional materials, websites, and marketing communications provided that at least 70% of participating students complete both the pre-program and post-program self-assessments.

Students complete eight self-assessment tests and receive ongoing progress reports that demonstrate how their professional, academic, and personal competencies evolve throughout their study abroad program.
